Jason Rodriguez grew up in Harlingen, Texas.  He attended the University of Texas-Pan American where he obtained a B.S. degree in chemistry with a minor in political science.  While an undergraduate, he conducted research on the diffusion of small flavor and aroma compounds through polymer films.  In 2003, he participated in a summer research program at The Ohio State University under Prof. Patrick Woodward.  He joined the Lisy Group in 2004 and his major interest is studying solvated metal ion—ionophore complexes in the gas-phase by IR spectroscopy for both singly and multiply charged metal ions.
